Judith Liptak, Mrs. Laszlo Papp passed away on March 31, 2005. Kedves [Éltető] Lajos, I am deeply saddened to wrute this personal note and share with you the news that Judith Liptak Papp died on March 31, 2005. She was the beloved wife of Laszlo Papp, who is the vice chairman of our Board of Directors and is the architect who designed the Foundation's museum, library and archives facility. Judith and her husband arrived in America after the 1956 Hungarian revolution. As a chemical engineer, she continued her career here as one of the first employees of a new firm, Crawford & Russell in Connecticut. By the time of her retirement ten years ago, the firm had 600 employees and was one of the most highly respected engineering firms designing chemical plants. As a distillation specialist, she participated in the design of over 100 chemical plants, and was the first woman registered as a professional engineer in the State of Connecticut. She was an ardent supporter of our Foundation and the Hungarian heritage and legacy in America. The Papp family has requested that memorial gifts may be made to the American Hungarian Foundation, 300 Somerset Street, New Brunswick, NJ 08903.

Miksa (Maximilian) bajor herceg vezetésével a 32000 katonát és 28 ágyút számláló császári sereg agusztus 9-én körülvette Nándorfejérvárt (Belgrádot), majd a várost szept. 6-án két órai véres harc után elfoglalta. Nándorfejérvár 167 évig volt török megszállás alatt.
